Sea urchins
Sea orchins have no bones in their bodies. Sea orchins live in all five oceans.
They can reproduce in warmer seasons. They see things differently.
They have hundreds of feet. They are really cool.
They are small, spiny and round echinoderms in class Echinodia. There are about 950 species of sea urchin that inhabit the oceans.
They play a big role in the ocean's ecosystem.
They come in many colors, from red to purple to green, making themsome of the most visible sea animals. An average sea urchin is small, measuring around 1 to 4 inches in diameter.
They do not have any bone structure. Instead they have a shell-like structure known as a test, which is made
from calcium carbonate. The test consists small plate segments.
Research suggests that sea urchins might live up to 200 years in the wild. Their life span reduces to about 30 years in captivity, while it's generally over 30 years in the wild.
